Sunless Tanning Tip
The Three Towel Method
Have you ever seen that person with the noticeably
fake tan? It's not that their fake tan is a poor
color, or that it's streaky, in fact you'd never be
able to tell it was a fake tan if it wasn't for
their blotchy hands!
Too many people make a mess of their fake tan when
they carelessly wash their hands after applying
sunless tanning lotion
or after using a
tanning towel .
This happens because water comes in
contact with the active sunless tanner chemical,
dihydroxyacetone (DHA), and it washes away leaving
blotchy patches. To avoid this blotchiness and to ensure
your fake tan looks its best, here's a great self tanning
tip for you. I've coined it the “Three Towel Method.”
The Three Towel Method uses (you guessed it) three towels!
Before applying any self-tanning lotion, setup three
towels on the counter, one soapy, one wet, and one dry.
When finished applying sunless tanning lotion, use these
three towels to wash, rinse, and dry the bottom of your
hands. This trick eliminates any risk of water coming in
contact with the tanning lotion on the backs of your hands
or arms, leaving a true clean-looking tan.
