Sun tan lotion can help develop an even and well distributed outdoor tan. When applied to the skin sun tan lotion effectively acts like millions of tiny prisms, reflecting, refracting, and focusing UV light. This UV light is then easily absorbed by the skin, permitting a tan to develop faster because melanin production is enhanced.

As an added benefit, sun tan lotion moisturizes the skin. Many lotions contain mineral oil and other exotic oils which leave the skin feeling soft, supple, and refreshed. Not to mention smooth and sexy!

One word of caution, many sun tan lotion products don't contain, or contain very little, SPF protection. When using these products outdoors, be careful not to overexpose the skin. Sun tanning outdoors is unpredictable, UV intensity can vary with altitude, seasons, geography, and weather. It's sometimes difficult to judge how much exposure is too much exposure. Be sure to use a quality sunscreen or sunblock following your outdoor tanning session, or get out of the sun all together.
