Moisturize Lotion
Best Lotion For After Tanning?
|
There are two types of moisturizers, those
specifically formulated for tanners
(tan extenders)
and those for general use. General moisturizers
can be used for moisturizing tanned skin but they
don't contain the same level of vitamins and
nutrients sun drench skin requires. One option is
to rotate between a general moisturizer and a
tan extender,
opting to use a tan extender shortly following a
tanning session and a general moisturizer later in
the day.

If moisturizing with a general moisturizer before
visiting a tanning salon check to see if your
moisturizer contains an
SPF
or the ingredients titanium dioxide or zinc oxide.
Such ingredients will absorb
(like sunscreen)
or reflect
(like sunblock)
UV light, inhibiting the skins ability to tan and
thereby wasting your salon visit. You may instead
consider purchasing a
discount tanning lotion
on-line.
With general moisturizers many tanners try to avoid those containing mineral oil and petroleum products. Mineral oil and petroleum products such as petrolatum have been known to dry skin and clog pores. Not to mention mineral oil is bad for the sunbed's acrylics - your tanning salon won't be impressed!
